When it comes to parking structure restoration and seismic retrofit, IDS Group’s record is unmatched with more than 50 new parking structures in California and Hawaii in our portfolio. We were among the first to perform seismic design-strengthening of parking structures utilizing fiber composite and base-isolated columns. We designed the first parking structure in the United States that utilized buckling-restrained frames for seismic energy dissipations. We participated in the first parking structure design to achieve LEED-certifications. We were among the first consultants to use the BIM/Revit modeling platform; our John Wayne Airport model is considered one of the largest models ever developed. Our award recognition includes the 2010 Merit Award for the International Parking Institute, announced in Las Vegas in May.
Every airport in Southern California has some elements or building components that were designed by IDS Group. We maintain on-call contracts working for both the Los Angeles International Airport and John Wayne Airport, where our current award to design JWA Airport expansion is considered on of the largest public works projects in Orange County. Our experience includes the design of terminal structures, all mechanical and electrical systems, Fids/Bids, baggage handling systems, seismic upgrade, renovation, central plant design, and value engineering services for both civilian and military airports.
